Later was named Irving House which burned. Site was then used for Bryant Hotel

was eventually the location of Smith-Bridgman Co.
9. Photo (1863-2), picture of Polly Todd, wife of John Todd who owned the 1st hotel or tavern in
what became Flint. She was 1st white woman in the area. His business was later moved
to Owosso.

He died in an accident on way to a fire. He was the 1st Fire Chief in Flint Fire Dept.
